Annual Art Exhibition ‘Abhivyakti – Ek Prayas’ Inaugurated at Jawahar Kala Kendra
27 February, 2016. Jaipur: Art is a vehicle for the Expression of Emotions and Ideas, students of The IIS University conveyed their feelings and personality through the combinations of colors, strokes and designs used in various art forms. The students of Department of Visual Arts of the University put their artwork on display at 16th Annual Art Exhibition ‘Abhivyakti – Ek Prayas’ 2015-2016 on Saturday at Jawahar Kala Kendra.
Best forms of visual arts showcased at Jawahar Kala Kendra
This five days long exhibition was inaugurated by the eminent artist Kalavid R B Gautam. Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Ashok Gupta boosted the morale of the students by saying that the Art exhibition opens up a multi-hued world of colours and forms, replete with master strokes with a keen eye for details. He further added that the exhibition at large will not only interest students, art lovers, connoisseurs and other artists but also draw public to view and appreciate the work on display.
Students showcase innocence and humor through artwork
Almost 170 students from all the semesters in bachelors and masters of visual arts have exhibit their talent. Students put together their hard work and talent to showcase their best in various visual art forms including compositions, wood art, still life, mural, illustrations, caricature, sculpture, drawing, tempera, print making, poster ad, designs, book covers etc under the guidance of visual arts experts of the university.
“Approximately 2000 artworks are put on display and on the first day of the exhibition, students got a lot of appreciation and kudos from the art lovers”. Shweta Goel, Head, Department of Visual Arts, said.
Student Joyes Singh Sengar portrayed relief on painted surface in which she exhibits the innocence of a child who is lost in nature’s beauty. Some students displayed day today’s life incidents through still life art.
Through photographs, illustrations, wood art etc, artists tried to bring forth best forms of nature and different facets of human life. Also, Shatakshi Agarwal, Meenal Jain and Akshita Singhvi tickled the funny bone with humorous illustrations.
The exhibition is open for art lovers at Chaturdik and both the Parijat Galleries of Jawahar Kala Kendra. Interested people can visit the exhibition between 11 am – 7 pm from 27th February to 02nd March 2016.
